Project Overview

This ground up retail project delivers four core and shell buildings totaling 33,000 square feet within the Whitney Ranch Retail Center in Rocklin. The owner required high quality shells ready for national and local retail tenants, delivered on an aggressive schedule while meeting California Green Building Code requirements. Stuart James Construction managed building core and shell construction from concrete foundations through wood framing, single ply roofing, lath and plaster, metal siding, storefront systems, and metal canopies. Solar and EV charging stations were integrated to meet sustainability standards, and our team coordinated phased sequencing to maintain access for civil crews and the adjacent Nugget Market anchor build.

Through daily coordination with city inspectors, utility providers, and specialty subcontractors, we accelerated approvals and minimized conflicts across this multi parcel development. Scheduled for completion in April 2026, these ground up retail shell buildings position the center to support leasing momentum and tenant improvement readiness. This project demonstrates our expertise as a retail building construction company capable of delivering complex, phased construction with clarity, craftsmanship, and partnership in one of Rocklin’s fastest growing commercial districts.
