Southgate Plaza

Design build exterior façade upgrade and interior remodeling across a 35 acre retail center, including new stucco, paint, signage, and façade modernization with select tenant space improvements.
Southgate Plaza commercial retail construction

Project Overview

This comprehensive façade enhancement modernized a 35-acre retail center in Sacramento, coordinating interior remodeling and exterior upgrades across multiple tenant units. The owner’s goal was to reposition the center’s visual identity and strengthen leasing momentum in one of the city’s busiest retail corridors. Stuart James Construction managed exterior work, including new stucco, paint, signage, infrastructure, and façade modernization, designed to deliver a cohesive, contemporary appearance across the property. Interior improvements to select tenant spaces included flooring, lighting, HVAC upgrades, and finish enhancements to complement the refreshed exterior.

All work was completed through phased scheduling and proactive coordination with property management and city inspectors to maintain tenant operations and customer access throughout an active shopping center environment. The project was delivered using a design-build approach, allowing Stuart James to streamline decision-making between architectural intent and field conditions while maintaining schedule and budget discipline.
